I loved my visit to Rwanda in April this year and it was great to visit a young orphan we are sponsoring.

I felt some of the horror you went through since seeing the "Hotel Rwanda" movie, and I just finished reading "Left To Tell" by Immaculee Ilibagiza.
That was only "one" story! I can imagine there are thousands equally as inspiring and terrifying!
But the book was wonderful and the simple ( but powerful ) faith of Immaculee left me forever inspired by her Faith and courage.
I wish I had the means to make a huge difference for the Rwanda people. It's obscene to see millions spent foolishly by the rich sometimes.
I did contribute, in a small way, to the funds needed for the orphans to get the water pump they desprately needed. That alone has given me a great feeling of at least helping a little.
For my contribution, I have a handmade Rwanda/African rag doll that I will CHERISH, as a reminder of what occured there. No doubt in my mind though that the Rwanda people are so very deeply loved by God.
Please never doubt that. He is very aware of you all!

I was part of the latest GLO Mission Awareness Team to Rwanda this Easter. It was a mind-blowing experience for me and God taught me much through our Afraican brothers and sisters. Being a schoolsworker, I have put together a presentation and taken it into a number of schools and I will take lessons on poverty/Rwanda and this site is an excellent tool to pass on to people so they can see the bigger scope of things.
